No, we are not selling tickets at the door!
Prices go up July 14th, no tickets sold to anyone after August 1st!
Floating world is the largest and most successful BDSM/Fetish/Alt event in the Northeast, and the largest all-indoor event in the United States. Encompassing more than 60,000 SF under one roof, with 140 planned classes, a 6,000 SF fetish fleamarket area, a 40,000 SF playspace and some of the most amazing playgear you've ever seen.
We have facilities for nearly any group - gay, straight, bi, D/s, M/s, S&M, pet play, pony play, bondage, whips, medical, fireplay and more!
We know one of the hardest things about Floating World is when it ends - so we've made arrangements with the New Philadelphia Club Black Phoenix for a wild after-party the following weekend! The fun never stops!
That's right, August 23rd is Floating World night at Black Phoenix, and your chance to check out Philly's sexy new club. The place got rave reviews at it's opening and it's only getting better with the Floating World crowd in the house! Need a free sample? You can even try out some of their gear right there at Floating World!
TFW attendees get in $10 (half price) and you can buy tickets at Floating World or online and bring your badge or program as ID. Like the place? sign up as a member on the spot! You can do a mini Floating World every weekend right up til next year's Floating World!
If you're in the Philly area the Weekend of July 11-13, you should check ou the Libertine Ball, a fantastic scene event with lots of Adult-Kinky-Piratey Fun!
Yes, the final class Schedule is now available HERE
Hard to believe, but when we started The Floating World we had hoped for two or three groups to get together and run the event. We also hoped for 200 attendees. Last year we had 14 groups and 650 attendees, this year we have 30 groups (so far) and projected 1,000 attendees. We'd like to welcome returning group The New York Renegades , and new groups Dyke Uniform Corps, Dressing for Pleasure, Liberty Gay Rodeo Association , Life in Nassau , Master/slave Conference , ClubFEM NYC , MAsT Central NJ . MAsT Metro NY , MAsT Philadelphia and Hellfire NJ
Welcome to the party, folks!
Remember, more groups means more volunteer staff, more parties, more diverse classes and more fascinating people to meet!
Yes, we're raffling off two legendary educators at Floating World! Enter to win a private class with Jay Wiseman and have him show you the tricks and tips he's learned in years of teaching in the BDSM scene. And if you're not into Bondage or S&M, our single tail expert John Ireland has graciously offered an hour of personal instruction in sensual whips as well!
This is a once in a lifetime chance to learn from one (or maybe two!) of the scene's most respected teachers.
Raffle Tickets will be on sale in the main lobby at The Floating World.
Any profits TFW realizes from this raffle will be donated to The Center In Asbury Park to help with their work supporting those in the community affected by HIV/AIDS.
Hilton Garden Inn is sold out -
Yes, the Hilton Garden is sold out for the Floating World weekend - registration is WAY above expectations. But we have secured 60 more rooms at the Marriott nearby for $85/night, $14 off their regular discount rate. Just use the hotel code that comes in your registration packet and call the Marriott front desk directly to secure this rate. Yes, it's cheaper than hotels.com.
Don't worry, there are more than 3,000 hotel rooms in the area, you won't have to sleep in your car. But the best deals are going fast, so I suggest you register now and get a room booked as soon as you can to save as much $$$ as possible!
The Marriott will be on the shuttle route same as the HGI.
Note: you might want to call the HGI first and see if anyone has canceled!
First of all, we're expanding. The response to TFW 07 was overwhelmingly positive, so we're expanding the event to 60,000SF total. This year we expect 800-1,200 people to attend from all over the US and Canada, and we want to be prepared.
This also gives us room to put ALL OF OUR CLASSES IN INDIVIDUAL CLASSROOMS, so we don't have the problems with noise we had last year. We are also expanding the social areas to allow more places to hang out after playtime.
Other things we are doing:
Expanding the cafe hours - so you will have more chances to catch a hot bite or two
More Meet and Greets and social events
More artists and performers and an expanded art gallery
More classes in Scene related art
Fewer playspace rules
More training for DMs and Safety staff
Expanded programs in transgender issues and women's issues
Night time pony play
301 and 401 classes for the more experienced people
Both unisex and gender-specific restrooms this year, choose what makes you most comfortable.
It was, is, an experiment - Create a nonprofit, all volunteer community event for the entire ALT/BDSM/Fetish scene. Gays, Hets, SMers, roleplayers, ponies, rubber and latex fetishists, crossdressers - the works. How to you get all those diverse groups to work and play together???
And more important, why???
The why was easy - all of these groups have something to offer the others - experience, expertise, perspective. You can't grow unless you find new points of view, new ideas -
The how was harder - so we adopted the 17th century Japanese idea of Ukiyo - "the Floating World", a place with its own rules of conduct based on respect, not convention. To our surprise as much as everyone else's - it worked! People played, talked, learned and went home better than when they came.
After the event, everyone asked only one question - When are you doing this again?!!!
Check out our History Page
Classes and workshops with the world's most skilled presenters, parties and festivities, meet and greet parties so you can make friends and new relationships, a marketplace with tons of the most exotic and exciting fetish and bondage gear, the Northeast's largest playspace with dungeon gear like you've never seen and of course, people - people from every community to meet and learn from.
We've booked the largest convention facility in Central New Jersey, just seconds from the NJ Turnpike and the GS Parkway and less than an hour from NYC and Philly by car or by train. We have an excellent hotel and several backups to insure you more than 3,000 rooms to choose from and continuous shuttle service for those who don't want to drive. If you do drive, there are thousands of FREE parking spaces on site.
We've booked over 40,00 SF of playspace plus 20,000 SF for classrooms and workshops - making this the largest event of its kind in the NorthEast.

Floating World is open to anyone in the alt community - no matter what your interest or orientation(s). Yes, I know - everybody says the gays don't get along with straights, Fetish doesn't get along with S&M etc - Bull. True, not everyone at the event will be into what you're into, but I guarantee you can learn from them and make friends with them. And yes, it's a great place to meet potential partners, too!
The event is run by volunteers from all the participating groups with the legal work, insurance and organization being handled by Alternative Educational Events, Inc. - a nonprofit we created just for this event. Nobody gets paid, everybody donates their time for the sake of the community.
Sorry, no- the way we run the event is that all registration stops two weeks before the event - this makes registration much quicker and puts us in a better legal position. Besides, if we know how many people are attending we can make sure we have all the staff and equipment we need in advance!
By law we can't spend them and we have no group to fund, so if we have money left over it goes into the event in the form of extra presenters, entertainers and equipment. The more people attend, the better the event gets! If there's any left over, it goes to next year's event or government recognized charities selected by the participating groups.
So the bottom line is, this event is not about the egos, the money, the prestige or the promotion. It's about learning, living and loving.
